DEATH OF HARRY CHILD

Well Known Madisonian Dies Yesterday at Home of His Daughter in Tennessee

News of the death yesterday of Harry Child, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. H. D. Peck, Brownsville, Tenn., caused genuine sorrow and sympathy in his wide circle of friends n Madison. Following a severe illness, Mr. Child went to the home of Mrs. Peck about three weeks ago in the hopes of benefiting his health. At the time he was better, but the trip caused a severe relapse from which he seemed to rally about a week ago. Mrs. Child, who was at their home here, was summoned to his bedside and was with him to the end.

The remains will arrive here on the noon train tomorrow and will be taken directly to Christ church where services will be held at 12 o'clock noon in charge of Dr. Black. The burial will be in Springdale cemetery. Friends are invited to the services without further notice.

The decedent was bout 63 years of age and had resided most of his life in Madison. During his early years he worked for the Courier (?) and Herald, Madison newspapers, and at the age of 27 took up the barber trade, which he followed up to just after the first the present year. Mr. Child was one of the oldest barbers in Madison and one of the best known.

He was popular with old and young alike for his kindness, courtesy and consideration and it is doubtful if there was a better liked man in Madison.

Besides the widow who was formerly Miss Margaret Stackhouse, three daughters survive, Ms. H. D. Peck, Brownsville, Tenn., Mrs. Walter Schneider, Louisville, Ky., and Mrs. Allene Yager, Ohio. A sister Mrs. J.W. Silver resides at Butlerville.
