Lillian Sears Chew, 79, of Hopewell Township, NJ died at the Hospice Inpatient Unit at Bridgeton Health Center after suffering from Alzheimer's disease.
The wife of Charles C. Chew, the Chews were married for fifty-eight years and had been "high school sweethearts." She was born in Bridgeton, NJ and was the daughter of the late Samuel and Florence R. (nee Boyington) Sears and was the step-daughter of Richard and Ruth Snead Sears Boyle of Millville.
A 1948 graduate of Bridgeton High School, she worked in banking and then worked for several years, first as a bookkeeper and then as a supervisor at the Coca-Cola Bottling Company in Bridgeton. Her last place of employment was with Joseph Trembly and his trucking company as a bookkeeper.
Mrs. Chew enjoyed dining out, going to the casinos and walking her dog, "Rex." She also loved going to the beach.
In addition to her husband and step-parents, she is survived by two sisters, Judy Royal and her husband Paul Jr. and Donna Moser and her husband Harold, all of Millville, sister-in-law, Betty Waddington, two brothers-in-law, Maurice Chew and William "Skeeter" Chew and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a step-brother, Richard Boyle Jr.
