Barbara Ann Chesnut Barnett was born November 13, 1941 in Maysville, Kentucky. She died June 10, 2011 at her home in Frankfort, Kentucky.
Barbara, formerly of London, Kentucky, was a business teacher at Bush High School and Laurel County High School before becoming a Finance Officer for the Laurel County Board of Education.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Barnett, and her parents, Clark and Marie Chesnut.
She is survived by her sisters, Jean Gaunce (Buddy) of Somerset, KY and Sally Jones (Jerry) of Frankfort, KY. Nephews, Kevin Gaunce and Tim Gaunce (Melissa) of Somerset, KY and niece, Tonya Smither of Frankfort, KY. Great nieces and nephews; Jennifer and Ryan Gaunce of Somerset, KY and Hannah and Grant Smither of Frankfort, KY.
At Barbara's request, her body was bequeathed to the University of Kentucky Body Bequeathal Program. There will be no visitation or memorial service. At a later date, graveside services and interment will be in the Wigginton Cemetery, London, KY.
