Roberta "Bertie Ann" Barnes, age 66, a resident of Wesley Village in Macomb, died at 4:31 a.m. on Friday, August 10, 2007 at Wesley Village. She was born on September 19, 1940 in Table Grove, Illinois the daughter of Herman and Eunice Sandage Chenoweth.
She is survived by 2 sons Myron (Kathy) Sinnett of Good Hope, and Mike Sinnett of Florida, 2 daughters Marsha (Jack) Brown of Blandinsville, and Mindy (Sam) Sloat of Burlington, Iowa, 2 brothers Ron Chenoweth of Macomb, and Jim Chenoweth of Michigan, 3 sisters Barbara Ault of Fiat, IL., Frances Allison of Moline, and Norma Brown of Macomb, 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, two sisters, and two grandchildren Douglas and Mitchell Harper.
Bertie Ann lived most all her life in the Macomb, Colchester and Industry areas. She had worked at Chenoweth Implement, and then worked 10 years for the McDonough County Housing Authority. She loved horses and had been active for many years showing Quarter, Palamino and Stock Horses in Illinois. She was a member of the Macomb V.F.W. Auxiliary, and she was a former member of the Eagles Club of Macomb.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at the Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb. Rev. Wayne Matheson will officiate. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Macomb. The family will meet with friends from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 13, 2007 at the Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the V.F.W. Auxiliary, M.D.H. Hospice Program or to the Wesley Village Rehab Unit.
