He retired with 34 years of service as a project/orbit supervisor with Western Electric/AT&T and was a resident of Bayou Sorrell. He passed away peacefully at his home on Friday evening June 14, 2013 at age 83. He was a native of Cloutierville and U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Korean War. Visiting at Wilbert Funeral Home, Plaquemine, on Monday, June 17, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Kenneth Austin. Interment in Cleveland Cemetery, Lena.
Preceded in death by his wife, Frances Ruth Nichols Chenault; parents, John and Louise Chenault; sister, Iris Bond; brothers, John and Tom Chenault; and granddaughter, Audrey Troquille Grant. Pallbearers were his grandsons.
He moved to Bayou Sorrell so he could fish every day. He loved attending his grandsons baseball games & received a plaque honoring him as the team grandpa. He enjoyed attending to his menagerie of birds. He was fun loving and loved to tell stories. He was also often called upon for his wonderful barbeque.
