Irene Chenault, 90, ended her earthly journey on Sunday, Jan. 24, 2010.
Celebration of life: 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Laurel Land Chapel of the Chimes, with interment to follow. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Laurel Land.
Memorials: Irene's preference, in lieu of flowers, would be donations to the American Heart Association , 2630 West Freeway Fort Worth, Texas 76102; Happy Hill Farm Children's Home, 3846 N Highway 144, Granbury, Texas 76048; or Seasons Hospice & Pallative Care Foundation, 5237 N. Riverside Drive, Suite 220, Fort Worth, Texas 76137.
Irene was born on Dec. 26, 1919, in Shreveport, La., to Will and Mayme Watson. She was a neo-natal nurse who loved taking care of the newborn babies. She dearly loved her grandsons and great-grandchildren, as well as her church and friends. She was a member of the Eastern Star and charter member of the "Dirty Dozen."
Irene was very active in the church, first being a charter member of Wedgwood Baptist, then Southcliff Baptist, and finally Walnut Ridge Baptist.
She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Murray Chenault, in 1981; her parents; one brother; and one sister.
Survivors: Daughter, Diane Moon and husband, Bob; grandson, Matthew Chumchal, wife, Emily, and daughter and namesake, Elenor Grace; grandson, Aaron Chumchal, wife, Amanda, and newborn son, Caleb James; grandson, Mark Chumchal, wife, Terrie, and son, Noah Robert; brother-in-law, Dalton Nealy; three nieces; two nephews; and eight grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
