Services for Janet Carter, 68, Edgewood, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 7, at Edgewood Church of Christ with Ralph Carter officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery under direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home, Wills Point. Mrs. Carter died January 5, 2007, in Irving. She was born November 14, 1938, in South Houston to William and Helen Mitchell Cheesman. She grew up in Houston. She moved to Edgewood in 1980. She was a member of Edgewood Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph Douglas Carter Sr., former preacher at Edgewood Church of Christ; and sister, Early May. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Ralph and Susan Carter, Centerville; daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl and Alex Bhamani, Terrell, Ruth Carter, Seattle, Wash., Karen and Tim Driskill, Edmond, Okla., and Kellie Smith and Eric Dustin, Frisco; sister, Alicia Korff, Houston; grandchildren, Stuart Carter, Philip Carter, Adam Carter, Sarah Kinney, Shannon Kinney, Sean Kinney, Allison Kinney, Staci Maloney, Heather Driskill, Erin Smith, Grace Smith and Carter Smith; great-grandson, Luke Carter; nieces, nephews and other relatives. Pallbearers included Stuart Carter, Philip Carter, Adam Carter, Daniel Maloney, Daniel Korff, Michael Korff, David Korff and Howard Korff. Honorary pallbearers were Alex Bhamani, Tim Driskill and Eric Dustin Smith. Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association.
