"Regarding Nick Cheechov....we were in the same group of youngsters during the time our familly lived in Vanden, CA..circa 1930-32 although they lived in the Elmira, CA area. The children of brother Alex Papin were in the same
group...gathered on Sundays...played games, ...saw him most every Sunday or so...nice guy, full of fun, humorous, lively..his wife Dorothy Seminoff Cheechov came a bit later (I think) Nick's father ,Steve, lost part of his
lower leg in a grain harvester accident. Nick and cousin Bill Shubin (later of Fresno) were very close. "

Hi Nancy
Just wanted to let you know that Nick Cheechov passed away last Sunday - same day and nearly the same time as Dale Earnhardt. He was just barely hanging on for the past few weeks, so although sad - he did not want to live like he was living. Below is the obit from the Reporter. It was
pretty correct - except Nick had an older brother Mike that passed away long ago.
