Joe was born October 27, 1942 in St Louis, the son of Fred and Johnnie Estelle McCoy Chauvin. He was married on April 3, 1999 in Jefferson City to Belinda F. Holland.
A resident of the Jefferson City area, Joe owned and operated the Top Hat Bar for several years and later Chick's Tap Room Bar for seventeen years prior to his retirement on March 16, 2012.
He enjoyed fishing and camping. Most importantly he loved to spend time and party with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of fifteen years, Belinda Chauvin, one daughter, Dawn Woods, of Linn, two step daugters, Jennifer Duty of East Prairie Mo. and Brandi Williams of Eldon, one step son, Sean Duty of Carbondale Colorado, ten grandchildren, Heather Woods, Ross Woods, Laura Woods, Ashley Woods, Kristina Duty, Kalli Duty, Eli Jones, lan Jones, Sarah Williams and Levi Willims.
He was preceded in death by his father, Fred J. Chauvin onJuly 26, 1984, his mother, Johnnie E.Chauvin on August 29, 1984 and his brother, Willian Chauvin.
Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 10-11a.m. Friday May 9, 2014.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11a.m. on Friday May 9 214 in the Freeman Chapel with the Rev. L.P. Cook officiating. Interment will be at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
