She is preceded in death by her parents, Winnfield Samuel Chatelain and Cora Mayeux Chatelain, her husband, C.L. "Mickey" Allen, one brother, Herman Chatelain, and two sisters, Peggy Chatelain and Dorothy Will.
Thelma worked for Schwartzberg Department Store for four years, Wellans Department Store for sixteen years, Weiss and Goldring and Lerner's. She was active as a volunteer with CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini and St. Mary's Training School and was a bookkeeper for Rainbow Flower Shop.
She is survived by one sister, Winnefred Lanier of Alexandria; one daughter, Bernie Puckett of Decatur, Georgia; three grandchildren, Greg Puckett, Chad Puckett, Tambie Brownell; and two great grandchildren, Cooper Brownell and Nolan Brownell.
