Sarah came to the United States when she was two years old, arriving at Boston on the "Cephalonia" on 2 Sep 1893. Sarah boarded the ship with her family in Liverpool, England.
Sarah grew up in Biddeford, Maine. She can be found in many records living at 17 Middle Street with her many brothers and sisters. Sarah attended Biddeford schools.
Sometime before 1920, Sarah married Alfred John Chasse, most likely in Biddeford. Sarah and John had two children: Janet (b. 31 Dec 1920) and John Anderson (b. 4 May 1924).
According to her obituary, Sarah and Alfred lived in Massachusetts for more than forty years. Alfred can be found working as a machanic in the Fairhaven area. After Alfred's death, Sarah retired to Biddeford, Maine for the last 10 years or so of her life.
Sarah was a member of the Christ Episcopal Church.
The obituary lists the following survivors: a son, John Chasse of Fairhaven, Massachusetts; a daughter, Janet Gracia of Rochester, Massachusetts; a brother, Richard Anderson of Biddeford; two sisters, Elizabeth and Jessie Anderson, both of Biddeford; and several grandchildren.
Dennett and Craig Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements with services held at Fairhaven Funeral Home. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery, Fairhaven.
