WATERBURY Leona M. (Chasse) Cerullo, 64, died Sunday, April 3, 2011, at Saint Mary's Hospital. She was the widow of John A. Cerullo Sr.

Mrs. Cerullo was born in Waterbury Sept. 29, 1946, daughter of the late Frederick and Alice (LeVasseur) Chasse. She attended Wilby High School and Waterbury State Technical College, and was formerly employed by Dossert Corp. where she worked for 30 years. She worked designing and making costumes for Arabesque Costume Supplies and the Waterbury Civic Theater, and also worked at the Grotto Restaurant.

Mrs. Cerullo enjoyed her cats, crossword puzzles, reading and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a communicant of St. Francis Xavier Church and was active in the Waterbury Civic Theater.

She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Pineau and her husband, David, of Wolcott; her son, John Cerullo Jr. and his wife, Stella, of Waterbury; a sister, Lydia Tamberino and her husband, Joseph, of Waterbury; her brother, Ranie Chasse and his wife, Jacqueline, of Beacon Falls; her twin brother, Daniel Chasse and his wife, Marlene, of Naugatuck; and her sister-in-law, Carmella Page of Waterbury. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jessica, Emily and Molly Strileckis, John "Jack" and Gillian Pineau, and Andrew Cerullo; her great-grandson, Jayden Strileckis; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a daughter, Regina Cerullo, a brother, Frederick Chasse Jr., and a granddaughter, Catherine Pineau.

The funeral will be 8:30 a.m. Thursday, April 7, from the Murphy Funeral Home, 115 Willow St., to St. Francis Xavier Church, 625 Baldwin St., for a Mass at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
