Helen M. Nanzer, 81, of Aurora went to her eternal rest on Monday, January 20, 2003. She was born June 2, 1921 in Aurora the daughter of the late Charles and Ida (Thompson) Chase.
Mrs. Nanzer was united in marriage on June 7, 1942 to Robert Francis Nanzer who preceded her in death on June 21, 1985 and she was a baptized member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church since 1948.
"Her life was filled with many loves; among them were gardening, reading, needlecrafts and especially her grandchildren who each received two handmade "stitched with love" quilts."
Survivors include seven children, Roberta (Robert) Nanzer-Lahey, Timothy Nanzer, Kit Wm. Nanzer, Robert (Melody) Nanzer Jr., Jeffrey Nanzer, Joel (Jennifer) Nanzer and Lisa (Duane) Dumdie; five nieces, Ann (Ken) Shields, Judie (Ed) Huss, Kaye Hansen, Cheryl Fleek and Virginia Pruss; two nephews, Al and Paul Pilch; 16 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Charles and Guy Chase; three sisters, Elaine Pilch, Pearl Pilch and Evelyn Low; one grandson, Adam Nanzer and one nephew, Roger Dean Low.
A wake will be held for Helen on Friday, January 24, 2003 from 4-8 p.m. at Dieterle Memorial Home, Montgomery. Services will be on Saturday, January 25, 2003 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Springlake Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
