McCANDLESS TOWNSHIP - Aaron A. Charlton, 84, of McCandless Township, died Wednesday, July 4, 2001, in Briarcliff Pavilion, North Huntingdon.
He was born in Meadville July 11, 1916, a son of James and Anna VanRiper Charlton. He married Marian McCardell, who preceded him in death.
He was employed by Duquesne Light as an engineer with 42 years of service.
Survivors include three sons, Thomas A. Charlton of San Antonio, Texas, William J. Charlton of Irwin and John R. Charlton of McCandless Township; a daughter, Nancy J. Chick of State College; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Elizabeth Reed of Boardman, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by a brother, James S. Charlton Jr.; and a sister, Marie Skelly.
There will be no calling hours.
The private memorial service will be for immediate family and invited guests.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Alzheimer's Association, 1323 Forbes Ave., Suite 200, Pittsburgh, Pa. 15219.
