Mrs. Lorena Charlton Casey, 79, granddaughter of an Oregon pioneer family, died Friday at her home, 3927 N. E. 12th avenue.
She was born November 6, 1871, on Sauvies island, where her grandparents, Joseph and Margaret Charlton, held one of the first land claims. Her mother, Dr. Calla B. Charlton, was a well-known Oregon woman physician.
Mrs. Casey was best known as an amateur painter.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Irene Hurlburt of Portland. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Davy Sunnyside funeral home. Burial will be in Lone Fir cemetery.
