Arcadio Charles Jr.
Recitation of the Rosary will be Thursday, June 22, 2006 7:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Southwest Memorial Chapel, 2739 Panama Lane. The Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday June 23, 2006 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 601 East California Ave. Arcadio was born in Alice, Texas to the late Arcadio Charles, Sr. and Maria Charles. He moved to California in 1968 and later married the love of his life, Francisca "Maria" Charles. Together they had 3 children, Stacy, Aaron, and Angeli. He had 8 grandchildren who thought the world of him and knew him as " Down Town Charlie Brown". He was a great brother to Arnold, Annette, and Abby. Dad was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, always hootin' and hollerin' during the game! He loved other sports as well, especially Baseball and those Yankees. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, taking them for walks, throwing the ball, taking them camping, and telling stories. He had just become a member of the Monte Carlo Club and looked forward to restoring his '71 Monte Carlo SS. He loved going to church and speaking of Jesus, especially to his Youth Group. He also loved to BBQ for anyone who came to his home. But most of all, he loved his family and friends and made sure he showed it every time. His joyous smile, hilarious stories, and long but funny jokes will truly be missed by everyone who knew him. We'll definitely miss passing by his house and seeing him standing in front, waving. Arcadio was preceded in death by his father, Arcadio Charles Sr.; his mother-in-law, Maria Hilaria Arreola; his grandmothers, Adela Garcia and Margarita Blanco. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Maria Francisca Charles, his children, Stacy Alvarez and husband, Albert, Aaron Charles and wife, Valerie, and Angeli Charles and fiancÚ, Maracio Fernandez, all of Bakersfield; his 8 grandchildren, Steven, Seth, Nathan J.J., Joey, Alyssa, Ashley, and Aaron Jr.; his mother, Maria Charles, Sr.; and siblings, Arnold Charles, Annette Nunez, and Abby Soriano; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Visitation will be Thursday June 22, 2006 from 4:00 - 9:00 p.m. Arcadio Charles, Jr. June 8, 1955 - June 20, 2006 Greenlawn Southwest Mortuary

Arcadio Charles Jr.
In Loving Memory of Arcadio Charles, Jr. June 8, 1955 - June 20, 2006 "Brother" A couple of nights ago I got that one unfortunate call that nobody ever wants to get in the middle of the night. It was our niece calling to inform me that you had suffered a massive heart attack and didn't come through it. At that time I thought it was a dream or maybe even a nightmare, but I got up and headed to the hospital when reality finally sent in. I saw your wife, kids and our sister, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and most importantly our mom. You were such a great influence in not just our lives but in this community. I can tell you now, after spending last evening at your house with your family that you will always be the greatest husband, father, grandfather, brother and most of all a friend that anybody could ever hope to meet. I honestly know you had a free hall pass when you got to Heaven, cause if anybody ever deserved one it was you. Please go find dad and let him know we miss him, give him a big hug and I'm sure you guys will have a great time together. So for now my brother and friend, GOD BLESS you and I will do everything in my power to make sure your family is taken care of. We're going to miss you and most importantly we'll always love you. Take Care My Brother... Your little brother, Arnold Charles
