Tudor J Charles, son of Lydia
and W. R. Charles, was born
February 6, 1871 in Big Bend
TWP, Republic County, Kansas, and
died November 22, 1936, at the site
of his birth at the age of 65 years,
9 months and 16 days.
On May 20, 1893, he was united
in marriage with Genin Thompson
and to them six children were born.
One daughter, Ethel, preceeded him
in death in 1920. Members of the
immediate family who survive are his
wife, a daughter Esther, four sons,
Kamp, Gene, Tudor and Don.
He leaves two sisters. Morfydd O.
Kamp, and Olwen M. Cameron; step brother
Gomer T Davies, brother Iestyn W. Charles,
and Tom Charles. He was preceeded in death
by his parents, twin brothers Hays and Wheeler
Charles, sister Nellie Charles; Step brothers
John Davis and Dewi A. Davis.
A large number of nieces and nephews and
many other relatives and friends remain in
grief with the immediate family.
His claim was, he was the first white child
born in Republic county, Kansas
