Alfred Joseph Charette, son of Napoléon Charette and Vitaline Martin, was born on 14 Nov 1896 in Sanford, York, Maine. He was the youngest of eleven children.
Alfred married Marie Evéline Fouquette, daughter of Adélard Fouquette and Philomène Courtois, on 24 Nov 1919 at Saint Paul de Chester in Arthabaska, Québec, Canada. He was widowed in 1927 when his wife died at age 29 from post-partum complications. Alfred's sister-in-law Georgianna Fouquette Bréton adopted his youngest child Alfred.
On 7 Jul 1930, Alfred married Jeannette Bilodeau, daughter of Arthur and Rosanna Bilodeau, in Lewiston, Androscoggin, Maine. The family resided in Lewiston for years, and Alfred died there on 6 Aug 1972. He was interred at Saint Peter's Cemetery.
