Died.--Mr. Aby Richard passed away at his home on the lake Wednesday, (Oct. 23, 1918) at 11 o'clock after an illness of ten days from pneumonia. Mr. Richard was 66 years of age, and no doubt was the oldest of any one born in Lake Providence living here at the time of his death.
When Mr. Richard was a young man he clerked several years for some of the largest mercantile firms in Providence, and was rated as a first class store man. He quit clerking and learned the carpenters trade and some years later gave it up to become sexton of the Providence Cemetery, which he held up to a few months ago.
Mr. Richard was an excellent man in every way and every person was his friend. He was upright and honest. He leaves a good name to live after him. His death was sincerely & deeply deplored by our citizens & his many friends.
To his bereaved wife, who was his companion for so many years, and to his sons and daughter, we extend our sincere and deepest sympathy.
Father Derivas, of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, conducted the funeral ceremonies both at the residence and the grave Wednesday evening, and the body of Aby Richards was laid to rest in the pretty Cemetery on the lake.

Year of birth taken from age at time of death.
