Sybil Laningham Bryant, 92, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2014, in College Station. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Friday, March 14, 2014, at the chapel building at Wilson Chapel Cemetery near Donie. Gene Fambrough will officiate. Interment will follow the services in Wilson Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service beginning at 9 a.m. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
Sybil Jenelle Chappell was born and raised in Freestone County and worked for the Mexia State School for several years, but was an accomplished seamstress for most of her life. She sewed countless garments for several generations of her family through the years. Sybil enjoyed fishing and was a great cook. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Marvin Laningham and Jack Bryant; and daughter, Kathryn Outlaw.
Survivors include sons, Kenneth Laningham and wife, Marion, of The Woodlands, and Tom Laningham and wife, Marcia, of College Station; nine granddaughters; numerous great and great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
