TALLULAH, Oct. 7. — (Special) — Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha Chappell, 41, of Waverly community, who died suddenly at her home Saturday, were held Sunday afternoon. The Rev. H. N. Alexander, pastor of the Presbyterian church here, officiated.
Interment followed in the Masonic cemetery at Delhi.
Mrs. Chappe[ll] is survived by her husband, Carter Chappell; a son, Earl Chappell of Lake Village, Ark.; a daugher, Susie Lee Chappell of Kingsville, Texas; five brothers, Christman Sykes and Melton Sykes of Waverly, Arthur and Wyatt Sykes of Tendal, and Horace Sykes of Lake Providence, and four sisters, Mrs. John R. Frost of Delhi, Mrs. Claud Bryant and Mrs. Mike Cathey of Waverly, and Mrs. C. L. Fairchild of Tuscaloosa, Ala.
The pallbearers were Robert Williams, W. L. Taylor, J. P. Millikin, Luther Bush, Audrey McKinney and Ollie Chauncy.
The McKie-Crothers Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
