In remembrance of our beloved Mother, Janet Gann; we will miss you every day for the rest of our lives. You have loved, cared for, taught and inspired not only your children, but so many people who have come into your life. Everything you stood for or endeavored, you did so with the greatest passion and to glorify God. We have peace knowing you are with your Heavenly Father, where strife, sickness nor suffering can ever touch you again.

Janet grew up in Stockdale, Texas where she attended Stockdale Elementary and High School. After moving to Austin, Texas, she enrolled in Durham's Business College, where she earned her Business Office Administration Certification. She graduated early and with honors. She also held the record for the fastest speed writing transcription. This earned her an invitation to teach at the College, which she eagerly accepted.

Upon graduating, she held positions in Business Administration at Kelly AFB, Legal Administrative Assistant with the Texas Education Agency, and also taught Jr. High Sunday School at Woodlawn Baptist Church. Janet was an active member of her church and most recently was a member of Bannockburn Baptist.

Mom's passions included: Vacationing in Rockport with her family, trying out new Mexican Food restaurants, painting, gardening, cooking, rescuing animals of all kinds, singing in the church choir, reading her bible, playing the piano, and spending time with her friends and family.

The events that she revered as the most significant in her life were being crowned Home Coming Queen and being the High School Drum Majorette. Also, her graduating Durham's Business College, Serving as Church Clerk, Swimming with the Dolphins in Jamaica, her country drive with Mark through Fredericksburg and Kerrville, where they dined at Billie Gene's on the Guadalupe River; and one of the most special events, was the birth of her only grandson Kyle.

Janet is survived by her three children, John Mark Gann, Judy Kay McGee, and Susan Gail Horton; one grandchild, Kyle Mitchell Horton.

Family will receive friends at 1st Baptist Church of Stockdale, 202 7th St. and Funeral Services will be conducted that same day at the church. Interment will follow at Stockdale Cemetery. Pastor John C. Hallum will officiate services.

Pallbearers are Jerry Coddington, Greg Barnes, Andy Cleveland, and Peter Parcher. Honorary Pallbearer will be Nan Tackitt.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Christopher House Austin's Hospice, 2820 E. Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Austin, TX 78702. You may sign the online guestbook at www.finchfuneralchapels.com
