Carol A. Chapman Barton-Young, died Monday, June 15, 2009, at her home in Spotswood. She was 72 years old. Mrs. Barton-Young was born in Passaic, while raised in Little Falls, and has been a resident of Spotswood since 1983. She previously worked as an licensed practical nurse for Dr. Pirog in Jamesburg for 25 years and was currently employed as a school bus driver for Phoenix Transportation in Jamesburg for the past 13 years. She was past president of Spotswood V.F.W. Post 4589, as well as a member of the N.J. State Honor Guard based out of V.F.W. Post 4589. She was an auxiliary member of American Legion Post 253, a member of the Negron-Carroll Scholarship Committee, former secretary of the N.J. State Police Survivors of the Triangle C.O.P.S. Chapter, and was a Gold Star Mother.
She was predeceased by her husband, John Barton. She is survived by her husband of six years, William L. Young Sr. of Spotswood; two daughters, Suzanne Bellotti and her significant other Sidney C. Horton of Hazlet, and Michelle Carroll and her significant other Kevin Mackiewicz of Millstone; her son, John P. Andes of Somerset; her step-son, William L. Young Jr. and his wife June of Philadelphia, Pa.; her step-daughter, Dorothy Shangle and her husband Stephen of Morresville, N.C.; her brother, Peter Chapman and his wife Eleanor of Massachusetts; 13 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter, Bella Rose Cuccolo; and several nieces and nephews.. Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, June 20 from the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. Funeral Liturgy at Holy Trinity R.C. Church, Helmetta, followed by interment in the parish cemetery in Monroe Township.
