Lavonna BURROUGHS, 78, formerly of South Hickory Road, Argos, died at 8:25 p.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph Medical Center, South Bend.
She was born March 31, 1907 in Winamac to John and Mary RICK CHAPMAN. She was married April 23, 1930 in Plymouth to Ralph BURROUGHS, who died Sept. 20, 1977. She was a member of the Walnut Church of the Brethren.
Surviving are two daughters, Wilma HARDIN, St. Joseph, and Ann GRAF, Lakeville; a son, Russell [BURROUGHS], Fort Wayne; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and two brothers, William [BURROUGHS], Tippecanoe, and George [BURROUGHS], Elkhart.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Walnut church of the Brethren with the Revs. Robert EDEY and Gary EDWARDS officiating. Burial will be in the Brethren Cemetery. Friends may call at the Grossman Funeral Home, Argos, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, and on Saturday at the church for an hour before services. Memorials may be made to the Walnut Church of the Brethren.
