Janet Merritts Chapman, 77, entered into rest on Saturday, February 5, 2011.
Mrs. Chapman was born on August 27, 1933 in Roswell, and had lived in Warner Robins for fifty-six years. She worked in civil service for thirty-eight years as an Administrative Assistant before retiring from Robins Air Force Base.
A former member and Sunday School Teacher of Evergreen Baptist Church, she enjoyed her ministry of sending greeting cards. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Thomas Merritts and Nettie Irene Pittman Merritts; brother, John Thomas (Jailey) Merritts; and son, Paul A. (Buddy) Payne.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving husband of thirty-six years, William "Lewis" Chapman; daughters, Connie Gilman and Sharon Poynter, both of Warner Robins; granddaughter, Lisa Gilman Lowery, Atlanta; sister, Frances Merritts, Smyrna; brother, Billy Merritts, Marietta; step-daughter, Jackie Howard, Macon; and step-grandchildren, Alex Bedgood and Scott Bedgood.
