Pearl Florence Chapline, 87, of Westminster, formerly of Pasadena, died Friday, Feb. 11, 2011, at Bethesda Assisted Living in Palm Bay, Fla.
Born Jan. 29, 1924, in Brooklyn, Md., she was the daughter of the late Peter B. and Margaret Brady.
She was the wife of the late Paul F. Schafer and the late Roger W. Chapline.
She was an accountant at Montgomery Wards. She was also a practical nurse who worked in private nursing homes, on private cases and in the X-ray department at South Baltimore Hospital. She worked at The Baltimore News and Post newspaper office in the mailroom. For 26 years she was a clerical employee at the Social Security Administration, retiring at 55 years old, and then was a homemaker. She was a deaconess at Westminster Baptist Church in the 1970s, and received a letter of appreciation from the Rev. Kempson for doing the Lord's work and caring for the Lord's Supper in 1974. She also enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, flower gardening, was an avid reader and was known for sending cards.
Surviving are son Brian J. Church and wife Shalla Lee, of Tennessee; brother Warren M. Brady and wife Janet, of Florida; a grandson, Brian P. Church, of Tennessee; and nieces and nephews Kathy, Glen and Connie Peskar, and Anita, Stephen, Soren, Ava and Aiden Bender. She was predeceased by a sister, Alice May Brady.
Interment in Glen Haven Memorial Park in Glen Burnie.
