Pauline Ruth Turcotte Boncek, 83, of East Charleston died on January 13, 2013, in Newport.
She was born on July 10, 1929, in Irasburg, a daughter of Perley and Grace (Smith) Chaplin.
On October 3, 1981, she married Edward Boncek who survives her. She previously married Richard Turcotte and Lawrence Lumbra, both of whom predeceased her.
Mrs. Boncek was employed by the Newport Plastics Company of Newport. She also worked at one time for the American Red Cross.
She enjoyed the company of her family and her cats, Iky and Kit Kit. She also enjoyed her flower gardens and watching deer, moose and birds.
She is survived by her husband Edward Boncek of East Charleston; by her children: Lawrence Lumbra and his wife, Janice, of Stafford, Virginia, Diana Villeneuve and her husband, Larry, of Newport, and Thomas Turcotte of Orleans; six grandchildren: Tina, Kimberly, Lawrence, Jesse, Jeannine, and Chelsea; and by 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her half-brothers: Earl Stewart of Troy, and Robert Chaplin and his wife, Doris, of Hardwick; and by her nephew Brian Chaplin and his wife, Judy, of Troy. She was predeceased by a son, Steven Turcotte; her brother Kenneth Chaplin; and by her half-brother Ralph Chaplin.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, at the Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Funeral Home, 37 Lake Road in Newport, with the Reverend Sean Quinn officiating. Interment will follow in Troy Village Cemetery.
