Lorraine H. Bishop passed away April 27, 2008, at the Parthenon nursing home after a brief illness.
Lorraine was a gifted artist who not only loved painting but won many awards for her work. One room in her home was devoted entirely as an art gallery. She was a generous person and gifted many of her paintings to her friends. Woodcarving was another of her many talents and with her deft hands she carved delicate pieces from wood.
She and her husband Christopher traveled to many states in this and foreign countries during her husband's long military career. She adapted readily to changing environments while even learning foreign languages at her husband's overseas stations.
Lorraine was born in Sommerville, Mass., on May 8, 1923, to Wesley and Camille Chaplain. She is survived by her husband, Christopher Bishop; son, William C. Bishop; daughter-in-law, Sandra L. Bishop; two grandchildren, Tyler and Kelsey Bishop; and sister, Dorothy Junior of Kingston, Mass.
