Ethel Gladys Bishop Chapin, 88, died Sept. 12, 1997 Holyoke.
Memorial services for Mrs. Chapin will be held Thursday, Sept. 25, 1997 at 2p.m. at the United Methodist Church of Fleming. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Sterling. Reverend Tom Peacock of the United Methodist Church of Fleming will officiate at the
services.Ms. Bishop married Edwin Carl Chapin on her eighteenth birthday, September 25, 1926.
The Chapin family lived in Leota. Kansas and in Colorado Springs, Colo, before moving to Fleming in 1943. They relocated to Sterling in 1960, and then to Red Bluff, Cali. in 1966. Mrs. Chapin lived there until moving to Holyoke a short time before her death.
Mrs. Chapin is survived by three daughters, Velma Swedlund and husband Ray. of Holyoke; Darlene Day and husband Kayo, of Red Bluff, Cali.; Margaret Miles and her husband Don, of Sterling; two sons, Carl Chapin of Sterling;and Jim Chapin and wife Connie. of Fremont, Calif: 12 grandchildred 17 great-grand children; two great-great- grandchildren: and a sister, Jean Cochran of Denver.
She waa preceded in death by her parents, her husband Edwin and son Lawrence and a grandson, Bradley Lawrence Swedlund.
