Cannaday, Mary Estelle Chaney
Mary Estelle Chaney Cannaday, 87, of 268 Wingfield Orchard Road, Martinsville, VA, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2015 at Blue Ridge Rehab Center.
She was born on April 22, 1928 in Patrick County, VA, to the late George Washington Chaney and Callie Hall Chaney. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Curtis R. Cannaday, son, Donald Wayne Cannaday and two brothers, Dillard Chaney and Haywood Lee Chaney, two sisters, Christine C. Dodson and Darsie C. Foley.
Mrs. Cannaday was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, Bassett, VA.
She is survived by her two daughters, Gaenell C. Stegall of Martinsville, VA, and Lonie C. Price of Asheboro, N.C.; son, Howard Randolph Cannaday of Patrick Springs, VA; sister-in-law, Arvene Hollandsworth of Stuart, VA. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Jon M. Price, David A. Price, Laurie A. Gardner and Stephanie R. Gilbert; her fourteen great-grandchildren, Ethan Price, Autumn Price, Elena Price, Karis Price, Ian Price, Austin Gardner, Ashton Gardner, Connor Gardner, Collin Gardner, Alexis Gardner, Drew Gilbert, Jake Gilbert, Luke Gilbert and Levi Gilbert.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Norris Funeral Services, Martinsville Chapel.
The visitation will be one hour prior to the service with Pastor David Towler and Pastor Roger Price officiating. Burial will be held at Cannaday Family Cemetery Stuart.
