IN MEMORIAM: I proudly served in a Dallas Police Department squad car with Leonard for 2 years (1982-1984) at the Northeast Police Division. We worked evenings together (4pm-12am) and answered many calls together. It was always great to see Leonard coming through that door when you needed help. He was a tremendously humerous person and always had great stories to tell. He also worked Vice (gambling) and there are many arrestees out there that, if they were going to be arrested, would happily be arrested by Leonard because he was so well liked. He loved his family, and particularly one dog that he had as a child. He wrote a book (which I cannot find) that told of his childhood in Louisiana. It was an excellent presentation of his life there. Leonard was a very tall man (I think about 6'6") and probably weighed a slim and trim 260 lbs. I used to work out with him and he was very strong. He loved Elvis Presley music and used to sing and emulate Elvis. I miss him even to this day. He was a great partner.
