Bessie Bee Champion Allen, 85, died suddenly in the Madison Memorial Hopsital.
Growing up and attending school in Rupert, her birthplace, Bessie was a daughter of Herman Fay Champion and Maude Lois Ashentfelter Champion. On August 20, 1937 she married Marion C. Allen and the marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple May 26, 1945.
She was mail carrier for fifteen years in Rupert and in 1965 they to moved to St. Anthony where Marion and Bessie owned and operated the Fremont Frozen Food. Employed also at Helens and Sew City Fabric in Rexburg, she enjoyed sewing and making baby quilts. Winning many ribbons and awards at local fairs for her beautiful flowers, she was an outstanding cook and candy maker.
Active members of the LDS Church in Primary and Relief Society, she and Marion served full time missions to Nashville-Tennessee, Macon Georgia and Phoenix.
Beside her husband of 68 years, she is survived her children: Billie (Frank) Wrigley, Juanita (Ronald) Fewkes, LaDeane (Harvey) Miller, Butch Elmo M. Allen, Darell (Sara) Allen, Greg (Bethanne) Allen and Loren (Susan) Allen: sisters: Florence Carlson and Bonnie Carroll; 16 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren.
Her parents, three brothers, a sister, a son, Ricky, and a grandchild predeceased Bessie.
