BASTROP, LA. Bettye Chambliss Ratcliff of Bastrop, Louisiana, formerly of Monroe, passed away, surrounded by her family, on August 30, 2013.
Bettye Louise Ratcliff was born August 8, 1940 in Camden, Arkansas to the late D.J. and Lessie Chambliss. She was a member of the Episcopal church.
Mrs. Ratcliff is preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.
Bettye is survived by her husband of fifty-four years, Fred Ratcliff of Bastrop; a daughter, Lisa McClane and husband, Jim of Omaha, Nebraska and a son, Wes Ratcliff and wife, Lisa of Frisco, Texas. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Caitlin McClane, Matt McClane, Kieran McClane, Wesley Robert Ratcliff, Darcey Ratcliff, Taylor Ratcliff, Sean Ratcliff, Lindsey Sirmans, and Ryan Diel; three great-grandchildren, Peyton Spangler, McKenzie Gastineau, and Jaxon Sirmans; four sisters, Pauline Purifoy, Georgia Stewart, Pat Bass, and Sue Glass; two brothers, William Chambliss and James Chambliss.
A memorial service for Mrs. Bettye Ratcliff will be announced at a later date. Services will be under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop.
