Adaline (Chambers) Bailey died Saturday, July 13,2013 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born July 15,1919 in New Castle, a daughter of the late Walter Scott and Adaline (Beam) Chambers.

Adaline was a graduate of Indiana University and received her bachelor's degree in French. She was a lifetime Indiana University Alumni member and avid IU Basketball fan. Adaline was also a member of both the Kappa Alpha Theta and the Psi Iota Xi Sorority. She enjoyed spending time at her vacation home in Kenora, Ontario, Canada. Adaline enjoyed the Masters Golf tournament in Augusta, GA, attending the event 34 consecutive years. She was a avid bridge player and a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Adaline was currently the oldest living member of the First Presbyterian Church in New Castle.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of nearly 72 years: G. William "Bill" Bailey of New Castle; her children: William L. "Bill" (wife, Kay) Bailey of Fort Wayne, Bruce C. (wife, Dee Dee) Bailey of Chattanooga, TN; grandchildren: Alison (husband, Drew) Carlson of Indianapolis, Benjamin Bailey of Indianapolis, Nicholas Bailey of Chicago and Alex Bailey of Chattanooga, TN; great-granddaughter, Catherine Adaline Bailey; nieces, Virginia (Chambers) Reeves of New Castle, Becky Chambers of Cincinnati, Cathy (husband, Jay) Kennedy of Indianapolis, Anne "Missy" Topp of Washington, DC; nephews, Walter Chambers III of San Diego, CA; sister-in-laws: Anna Chambers of New Castle and Eloise (husband, William) Guyer of Indianapolis.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers: Scott Beam Chambers and Walter Scott Chambers II; and a three sisters: Harriet Eden, Mary Green and Ruth Chambers.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 16,2013 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Services with Rev. Arthur Whitaker officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery. Friends may call from 12 p.m. - 2p.m. at the funeral home.
