Jesus Pedraza "Tutti" Chacon of. Bayard passed away Saturday, Sept. 5, in Sierra County. Viewing will be from 2-6 p.m. Wednesday at Bright Funeral Home. The rosary will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Bayard with Deacon Johnnie Perez officiating. The funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 11a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima with Father Paulus Kao officiating. Interment with full military honors will be in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Cemetery. Mr. Chacoñ was born April 16, 1937, in Santa Rita, the son of Abran M. Chacon and Josefa A. Pedraza Chacon. He married Lupe Maldonado on Dec. 20, 1969, in El Paso, Texas. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Lupe, of Bay ard; three daughters, Donna Martinez and her husband, Juan, of Las Cruces, Diane Castro and her husband, Martin, of Las Cruces, and Patsy Chacon of Bayard; three wonderful grandchildren, whom he loved and adored, Marissa, Martin Jr. and Adrianna Castro of Las Cruces; two brothers, Augustine and his wife, Elvira, of Mimbres, and Gaspar and his wife, Theresa, of Santa Fe;. two sisters, Consuelo Ryan and her husband, Thomas, and Lupe Ornelas and her husband, Victor, all of Silver City; one uncle, Tranquilino Pedraza of Bayard; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. whom he loved very much. He was preceded in death by his mother, in 1998 his father, in 1993; two sisters, Catalina Alirez, in 1982, and Rosa Arvizo, in 1998; and one niece, Eva Ornelas, in 1976. Mr. Chacon was an active member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church and a member of Ou1 Lady of Fatima Knights of Columbus Council 9470. He was employed by Kennecott Copper Corp. and later retired from Phelps Dodge in 1997 after 35 years. He was the secretary-treasurer for Boilermakers Union Loch 632. He served proudly in the New Mexico National Guard, retiring as sergeant first class in 1997 after 42 years of service. He, was a very loving, caring and wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle; brother-in-law and friend, and will be dearly, missed by anyone who knew him as "Tutti," as his family and friends called him, was known for his many kind deeds and gentle nature. He would have done anything to help anyone in need. Pallbearers will be Augustin Chacon, Gaspar Chacon, David Maez ,Pete Alvarado, Hector Grijalva, Pasqual "Guero" Castillo, Pete Marqtiez and Chava Puentes, Honorary bearers will be his many cousins, nephews, nieces, friends and grandchildren.
