She was born Feb. 7, 1946 in Valley Township to Merle and Sara (Gillis) Anderson.
Mrs. Cessna was a homemaker and a Protestant.
She was a 1965 graduate of Kittanning High School.
Her hobbies were gardening and camping. She had a passion for the outdoors and especially enjoyed her animals.
She also enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Cessna of Ocala, Fla. and Merle Cessna of Kittanning RD2; one daughter, Mrs. Timothy (Sara) Brison of Kittanning; seven grandchildren; her mother of Kittanning RD2; and one sister, Mrs. James (Linda) Coleman of Kittanning.
She was preceded in death by her father, who died in 1993; her husband, Charles C. Cessna, whom she married Sept. 16, 1965 and who died July 9, 1984; and one infant daughter, Dawn Louise Cessna, who died in 1977.
CESSNA - Friends of Ruth Delaine (Anderson) Cessna, 55, of Kittanning RD2, who died Jan. 22, 2002, will be received from 11 a.m. Friday at the Carson/Boyer Funeral Home, 724 Main St., Rural Valley, until the time of funeral services at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Larry Messick officiating. Interment will take place in St. Paul's Cemetery. Arrangements by Carson/Boyer.
