Dorothy Virginia Hall Cence, 92, of Lincoln St., Lancaster, passed away early Saturday morning at her home following a yearlong illness.
Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Elsie Hall, and the wife of the late LeRoy W. Cence, who died Jan. 10, 1989.
Dorothy had retired as a secretary from Armstrong World Industries and had also worked for Ira Daffin Co. She was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church in Lancaster.
She enjoyed playing bridge and was a former Park City Twalker, and also volunteered at the Penn State Hershey Medical Center for many years in the neo-natal unit.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Steven T. Cence of Lancaster, and her brother, Charles Hall of Willow Street.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her Life Celebration service from Fred F. Groff Inc., 234 W. Orange St., Lancaster, Friday at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Robert A. Bailey officiating. Interment will be held in Millersville Mennonite Cemetery. There will be no viewing. The family will receive friends at Groff's on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. If desired, memorials may be seen in Dorothy's memory to Otterbein United Methodist Church, 20 E. Clay St., Lancaster, PA 17602 or to a charity of one's choice.
