MRS. IVA BURBA DIES, FUNERAL AT ST. THOMAS - A Bardstown resident, Mrs. Iva Cecil Burba, 90, died at 2:10 p.m. Friday, November 19, at Colonial House Rest Home here. She was the widow of J. W. Burba, who died April 30, 1965. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Albert Strong, Columbia, Virginia; Mrs. Eddie Gaffney, Los Angeles, California; Mrs. J. C. Parrott, St. Matthews; Mrs. John L. Greenwell, Blanchester, Ohio; and Mrs. Julian Head, of New Haven; two sons, Garland Burba, Bardstown, and Cletus Burba, of Atlanta, Georgia; two sisters, Mrs. Will Livers, Bardstown, and Mrs. Verlin Newton, Louisville; two brothers, Lytle and Alvertus Cecil, both of New Haven; 27 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 23, at St. Thomas Church, near Bardstown, with the Rev. Robert Dollinger, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. The body was at Mann and Greenwell Funeral Home, where a prayer service was held at 7:30 Monday night.
