She was born Aug. 2, 1923, in Crandall to the late Horace Alford and Willie Wadworth Cawthon. She married Demps Ray Adams on June 20, 1942, and had been a resident of Athens since December 1953. Jean was an avid athlete and bowler. She was a graduate of Crandall High School.
Survivors include sister-in-law, Sue Adams, Athens; several nieces and nephews; and caregiver, Betty Wood, Athens.
