Cletus Leroy Cave, 72, of Grottoes, passed away Monday, Dec. 20, 2010, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg.
He was born in Rockingham County on April 12, 1938, a son of the late Joseph and Naomi (Strawderman) Cave.
Cletus was a retired over-the-road truck driver.
He was united in marriage on Aug. 5, 1987, to Evelyn Ann Cave of Grottoes, who survives.
Cletus is survived by six children and spouses, Rick Cave and Lori of Grottoes, Kenneth Cave and Anita of Stanley, David Oscar and Victoria of Bridgewater, Sandy Greene and Jon of Grottoes, Missi Harpine and Stacey of Grottoes, and Michael Lester of Grottoes; two sisters, Catherine Hasler of Port Republic and Barbara Cave of Port Republic; eight brothers and their wives, Ray Cave and Janet of Harrisonburg, Roy Cave and Lois of Harrisonburg, Donald Cave and Diane of Mount Crawford, Roland Cave and Bonnie of Broadway, Joseph Cave Jr. and Anita of Timberville, Roger Cave of McGaheysville, John Cave and Pam of Broadway, and Robert Cave and Natalie of Broadway. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Cave.
A memorial service will be held at Johnson Funeral Service Chapel in Grottoes at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010, with the Rev. Erich Bennett officiating.
