Utica. Feb. 3. — The death of Mrs. Hannah G. Allaben, relict of Rev. Hamblin G. Allaben, occurred yesterday morning at the home of her sister, Mrs. Linus R. Clark, of cancer, from which she had been a sufferer for about two years.
She was born at Hinckley about 60 years ago, and at the age of 14 went to reside at the home of Capt. Linus R. Clark at Forestport. When Capt. Clarke was elected county clerk some 42 years ago, she came with the family to Utica, where two years later she was married.
Mr. Allaben was graduated from Colgate and later was located at Lebanon, where he died about 20 years ago. Since then, she had made her home with her sister, who survives her with two other sisters, Mrs. Joseph Cook of Poland and Mrs. Clinton Rathbun of Hinckley, and two brothers, Samuel and Charles K. who reside at Cold Brook, Herkimer County.
Mrs. Allaben was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and an active worker in church and societies and was widely beloved for her sterling Christian character and self-sacrificing disposition. Rome Daily Sentinel, Monday Evening, February 9, 1914
