She was the widow of Michael E. Cavanaugh, who died in 1970.
She was born June 1, 1911, in St. John, New Brunswick, Canada, to Andrew and Emma Louise (LeBlanc) Babin. She lived in Manchester for most of her life before moving to Laconia in 2002. She was a graduate of Hesser College and was employed at J. F. McElwain Shoe Co. in Manchester and Nashua for many years.
She was a communicant of St. Pius X Church, Manchester.
Family includes five great-grandchildren; a brother, Edwin Babin, of Florida; a sister, Doris Grady, of Manchester and several nephews and nieces.
IN HER LIFE: Mrs. Cavanaugh is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Richard Clement, of Gilford; four grandchildren, Michael P. Gamlin of Gilford, Erin A. Shagena of Boscawen, Scott Alward of Laconia and Christopher Alward of Florida. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Cavanaugh was predeceased by a daughter, Joan C. Alward, and by a great-grandchild, Logan Christopher Alward.
SERVICES: A calling hour will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Pius X Church, 575 Candia Road, Manchester. A Mass of Christian burial will follow the calling hour at 11 a.m. at St. Pius X Church, by Rev. Robert Gorski, pastor of the Church.
Burial will follow in the family lot in St. Joseph Cemetery, 448 Donald St., Bedford.
Memorial donations may be made to Belknap County Nursing Home, Activities Fund, 30 County Drive, Laconia 03246.
