Mildred B. Carty
Mildred Bernice Carty, a former resident of Ironton, passed away February 9, 2008 at the Parkland Health Center in Farmington at the age of 99 years.
She was born January 17, 1909 at Edge Hill, Missouri to George W. and Anna May (Gallaher) Cauley.
On May 15, 1926 she was united in marriage to Mont K. Carty, who preceded her in death on March 21, 1989. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two children, Robert and Karen, and two brothers, Roy and Otto Cauley.
Surviving are: two sons, Donald (Louise) Carty of St. Louis and Kenneth (Linda Faye) Carty of Bridgeton; three daughters, Virginia (Richard) Berliner of Sacramento, CA, Rose Ann Henson of Humansville, MO and Linda Marie (John) Kozlowski of St. Charles; 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; other relatives and a host of friends.
She worked many years as a cook for the Black River Lodge in Lesterville, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pilot Knob at the time of her death.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, February 13th, at 10:00 AM at the White Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Donald Strodtman officiating. Interment will be in the Black Cemetery, Black, Missouri. Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 12th, from 5-8 PM at the White Funeral Home in Ironton.
