IOLA, KS. - Bertha I. Cation, 83, Iola, Kansas, died Wednesday, July 7, 2004, at Windsor Place, Iola, Kansas.
She was born Dec. 12, 1920, in Cummings, Kansas, the daughter of Jay D. and Clara (Roland) Judah.
She was also raised by Mary Ellen Barber, who married her father after her mother died.
She graduated from Iola High School in 1938, and from Iola Junior College in 1941.
On May 20, 1951, she married Howard W. Cation. He died March 17, 2004.
She was a cashier for the city of Iola, retiring after 37 years.
She was a member of the First Christian Church.
Survivors include a sister, Betty Stroh, Chanute, KS; one nephew; and two nieces.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Theodore Judah; a nephew; and a niece.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 10, 2004, at the funeral home, led by the Rev. Steve Traw. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Iola, KS.
Memorials to the First Christian Church or Allen County Health Care Foundation Hospice may be left with the funeral home.
