"Lawrany" (Luraline) Thompson was born @ Wilkes Co., GA where she met and married JL Catching. The Catching family (JL & brothers Joseph & Phillip) moved to Pike Co., MS by 1809. He and his brother fought in the War of 1812 (see "MS Military Records"). By 1819 the family had moved up to what is today's Hinds County and a built a fine home.The house was burned down during the Civil War. This cemetery is located down the hill from that home site.
After the 1833 death of Lawrany, JL Catching married W#2 Martha

It was previously believed that Lawrany was a d/o Isham & Elizabeth Thompson but new records (2014) have now fully confirmed her parents as John & Tabitha Thompson. Lawrany was the youngest of five children.
