Joseph Blain Catching Dies at Bassett.
Joseph Blain Catching died Monday night at his home near Bassett following a heart attack. He was 49 years old.
A member of a family which for four generations has played a leading part in the mercantile and agricultural activities of south Mississippi, Mr. Catching moved to Bassett two years ago. He was a member of the Methodist Church, a thirty-second degree Mason and a Shriner. A graduate of the University of Mississippi, he had been admitted to the Mississippi bar.
Mr. Catching is survived by his widow, Genevieve Stewart Catching, two sisters, Mrs. I. N. Ellis, Hazelhurst, Miss., and Mrs. R. H. Allen, Georgetown, Miss., and two brothers, George B., Colorado Springs, Col., and Archibald Steel, of Bassett.
Burial was at the family Cemetery near Georgetown.
