MRS. G. H. CASWELL DIES MONDAY EVE
This community was saddened this week to learn of the death of Mrs. George Caswell who passed away at her home on Monday evening, March 9th.
Laura E. Howe was born in New York October 5th, 1843. When six years of age, with her parents she came to Noble County, Indiana, where she attended school, grew to womanhood and met Mr. George H. Caswell and on April 3rd, 1867 they were married, beginning their home life in Allegan County in southern Michigan, where they lived until September 1871, when they moved to Merrick County, Nebraska. In 1886 they moved to Nance County, near Fullerton, three years later they moved into Fullerton where they have lived ever since.
Mrs. Caswell was converted at the early age of 13 years and united with the Wesleyan Methodist church. Her membership in the Fullerton Methodist church dates back to August 9th, 1891 when she and her husband became members. Mrs. Caswell has ever been a faithful Christian.
Some ten years ago her health failed and since she has been kept at home and suffering much of the time. For the past two weeks of her life she has suffered much but when the end came, Monday night, March 9th she quietly passed on to her reward at the age of 81 years, 5 months and 5 days, the whole family being present. Mrs. Caswell was for many years and up to the time of her death a devout member of the Womans Relief Corps.
She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, George H. Caswell, chairman of the Nance County Board of Supervisors, two sons, Ervin W. of Bozeman Montana and Orville D. of Fullerton, one daughter, Mrs. Hattie Donnelly of Petersburgh, Nebr. Three sons, Herbert, 35 years of Age; Luther 22 years of age and Clarence 1 and one-half years of age have preceded her in death. Ten grand children, one great grand child and a brother, E.A. Howe of Williston, North Dakota still survive her.
On account of Mr. Caswell's sickness the funeral services were held at the home on Thursday March 12 at 1:30 p.m., conducted by her pastor M. B. Carman. The music was by Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Baldridge. Interment was made in the Riverside Cem.
