|Death: ||Nov. 21, 1869|
Benjamin Castor/Caster birthdate approximate,was the son of Sarah (Gwin) & Jacob Caster/Castor & husband of Martha "Sarah" Randles, who was the daughter of Abraham & Elizabeth (Chaney) Randles.
In the 1860 Federal Census for Clark Twp. Coshocton County he is listed as Benj Castor age 37, Martha "Sarah" Castor is age 32, daughter Sarah is age 12, Mary (9), Phebe (7), Rebecca Emma (4) and James Seward is 2. In 1870 Federal Census, "Martha" LISTED AS SARAH Castor age 40, WIDOWED, born in Ohio is living in Sherman Twp. Jasper County, Iowa with their children: Emma, James Seward, Nellie age 9 and Della age 7. In 1880 Federal Census, she is 49 and living with Seward who is 23, Nellie age 19 and Della age 17. There are Gwins buried in this cemetery. I believe that Benjamin's wife Martha (Sarah) Castor is buried at Salem Cemetery in Clark Twp. on the Coshocton/Holmes County line. She may have returned to Ohio, though I have not yet found her obituary. Martha, who was also known as Sarah for source: see Census, was NOT buried next to her father as I have seen elsewhere! The James Castor buried in this (Old Victor) cemetery is the brother of Benjamin.
