Loretta McKinney Castle, 78, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, the 12th of May 2011.

Loretta was born to Ethyl Marie Wales and L. Edward McKinney on the 17th of December 1932 in San Antonio, Texas, where she attended high school and college. Soon thereafter she moved to Houston and began modeling for Sakowitz. It was during her modeling years that she met her soul mate and husband of nearly 50 years, Jack Huston Castle, D.D.S..

Loretta's life with her devoted and loving husband and children was busy, exciting, and always full of pleasant surprises. She gave her heart and soul to her family, which she loved dearly. Loretta was passionate about assisting her husband's creation and development of Castle Dental, teaching Sunday school, and supporting the Houston Grand Opera and the San Antonio Museum of Art, where she was a member of the Board of Trustees. Spending time in Rockport, Texas, the Riverwalk in San Antonio and in later years, San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, gave her great pleasure and lasting memories.

Loretta will be remembered for her gracious, kind, gentle and generous spirit, for the love she felt for her family and the many people that came into her life, and for the natural grace with which she led her life. She was a classic and refined lady.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Huston Castle and both of her parents. She is survived by her son, Jack Huston Castle, Jr. and his wife, Shushana, and their children Trevor, Hayden and Fielding Castle; her daughter, Lisa Donnell and her husband, Dr. Malcolm Donnell, and their children, Elizabeth, Travis, and Cameron Donnell; her sister, Ann Cunningham of San Antonio, Texas; her cousin, Patricia Llewellyn Leaf of Edgewater Park, New Jersey.

The memorial service is to be conducted at eleven o'clock in the morning on Thursday, the 19th of May, at St. Martin's Episcopal Church, 717 Sage Road in Houston, where the Rev. Martin J. Bastian is to officiate. Immediately following, all are invited to greet the family during a reception in the adjacent Bagby Parish Hall.

Prior to the service, the family will have gathered for a private interment at Glenwood Cemetery in Houston.

The family wishes to thank her caregivers and helpers Rena Similien, Dora Williams, and Brady Robles for the positive light that they brought to the beautiful life of Loretta.

In lieu of customary remembrances, the family respectfully requests that memorial contributions in Loretta's name be directed to the San Antonio Museum of Art, 200 West Jones Avenue, San Antonio, TX, 78215.
