Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Barton will be held Monday, September 21, 2009 at 2:00PM in the Chapel at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, LA. Interment will follow in the Mansfield Cemetery. Dr. William Crosby and Brother Don Fletcher will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday, September 20 from 5:00PM until 8:00PM.
Dorothy Cassell Barton was born March 23, 1922 in Rochelle, LA to Joseph Henry and Alta Hines Cassell and entered into rest September 19, 2009 at her home in Benton, LA.
Preceding Mrs. Barton in death were her husband of 55 years, Herschel Ray Barton, Sr., son; Herschel Ray Barton, Jr., 3 great-grandsons and 2 brothers; Leroy Cassell and Oddie Cassell. Left here to cherish her memory are her sons; Kerry Barton of Ft. Worth, TX, and Michael Barton and his wife, Dana of Tallulah, LA, her daughters; Lynda Laffitte and her husband, Stuart 'Boogie' of Benton, LA, and Kathy Broadway and her husband, Travis of Alexandria, LA., grandchildren; Shanna Durr, Brad Binning, Michael Barton, Michelle Barton, Cheyenne Barton, step-grandchildren; Arden Broadway, Heath Broadway, Shawn Butler, Melanie DeMoss, Anne Marie Walker, Jamie Lee Walker and Stacy Ritch and 20 great-grandchildren.
